Dr. Edgard Bendaly is a cardiologist specializing in minimally invasive procedures including diagnostic cardiac catheterization for patients with congenital heart diseases, patent ductus arteriosus closure, atrial septal defect closure, pulmonary valvuloplasty, aortic valvuloplasty, various vessels angioplasty (ballooning) and stenting, collaterals (unwanted vessels) occlusion, emergent pericardiocentesis, and emergent balloon atrial septostomy.
He treats congenital heart disease in patients of all ages, and acquired heart disease in children, including Kawasaki disease, rheumatic fever, and cardiomyopathies.
He is the only trained and specialized congenital cardiac interventionist performing minimally invasive procedures in the state of South Dakota and within 150 miles. He also is one of two board-certified cardiologists in South Dakota for adult congenital heart diseases. He serves as director of pediatric cardiovascular intervention at Sanford Health, Sioux Falls, SD; associate professor of pediatrics at the University of South Dakota; and pediatric interventional cardiologist with the cardiac surgical team from Children’s HeartLink to First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University, Kunming, Yunnan Province, China.
