Breast Surgery

Find Your Confidence

At Sanford Health, you can choose from a number of breast surgeries. We will help you find the shape you're looking for, whether you want to enlarge, reduce or reconstruct.

Procedures we offer:

Breast Implants (Augmentation): An implant is placed under your breast - or under your breast and chest muscles - to reshape and increase your breast size. Both silicone and saline implants are available. Breast augmentation can help you if you feel uncomfortable with the size of your breasts or if you are dissatisfied with their appearance. Breast augmentation will enlarge small breasts, correct asymmetrical breasts or correct loss of breast volume after nursing.

Breast lift: This procedure rearranges breast tissue by removing extra skin and elevating the nipple areolar complex. Breast shape and size change when patients choose to undergo both augmentation and lift.

Breast reconstruction (Mastectomy): This is most often done when you have been treated for breast cancer. It can be done simultaneously with cancer surgery or later on. There are multiple ways to reconstruct a breast, which can include nipple tattooing, and you need to make this decision with your surgeon on what is best for you. Learn more about Mastectomy

Microvascular breast reconstruction: This procedure uses your own body tissue from the abdomen, back, thighs or buttocks to reconstruct the breast after a mastectomy. The tissue is transplanted into the chest and reconnects the blood vessels to new ones in the chest region.

Breast reduction: This removes portions of breast tissue and skin. Then it elevates the nipple areolar complex. This procedure can be cosmetic and can be covered by health insurance if you suffer from back, neck and shoulder pain as a result of heavy breasts.
